ART. Send via email JPG, TIF, or PDF image files, or (our preferred method) simply direct us to a URL. Please include a brief biography and/or exhibition history if possible.
WRITING. If you are submitting a finished piece of fiction, nonfiction or poetry, please do so via email attachments in Microsoft Word, HTML, or RTF formats (or just include it in the body of your email). If you are pitching an idea to the magazine, make sure to include other writing samples and a short biography or résumé.
Please note: At this time, Esopus is only considering fiction submissions from writers whose work has never been published.MUSIC. If you'd like to be involved in a future compilation CD, send us a link via email to a website where we can access mp3 downloads of your songs.
If you lack access to email, or don't have digital files of your art, writing or music, you can also send us slides, transparencies, computer printouts, CDs, or Xeroxes of the work via regular mail.
Do not send originals. Please enclose a stamped, self-addressed envelope if you'd like anything returned to you. (Because we are short-staffed, turnaround time for submissions received by mail is significantly longer than for those received via email.)
All the work we receive is carefully reviewed. We will be in touch with you
within two months if what you've submitted seems like a good fit for an upcoming issue of
Esopus.
