Frightened Rabbit began as the solo effort of singer and songwriter Scott Hutchison in 2003, and now includes his brother Grant Hutchison, Billy Kennedy and Andy Monaghan. The Scottish group's debut album, Sing the Greys, (Hits the Fan) appeared in 2007; subsequent releases have included Midnight Organ Fight (2008) and The Winter of Mixed Drinks (2010).

Natureboy is the project of Sara Kermanshahi, formerly vocalist for Seattle-based House on a Hill, with contributions from Cedar Apffel and Rory O’Conner. Natureboy’s self-released (and self-titled) debut album appeared in 2009.

Deidre Muro and Paul Hammer are Savoir Adore, a two-piece outfit from Brooklyn. The duo, who met while studying music at NYU, have three releases on Cantora Records: The Adventures of Professor Pumpernickel and the Girl with Animals in Her Throat (2008), Machines (2009), and their first full-length album, In the Wooded Forest (2009).

Portland, OR–based Laura Gibson has released several albums on Hush Records, including If You Come to Greet Me (2006), Six White Horses (2008), and Beasts of Seasons (2009).

Brothers Robert and David Perlick Molinari are French Horn Rebellion. The Brooklyn-based duo has opened for Bob Dylan and the Black Keys and produced MGMT’s debut album; their EP Up All Night was released in February 2009.

Born and raised in Havana, Cuba, and now living in Baltimore, MD, Lesser Gonzalez Alvarez is a visual artist, writer, and musician who recently joined the Carpark Records roster. His first release, Why Is Bear Billowing?, appeared in 2009.

Based in Brooklyn, the classically trained singer and pianist Lia Ices has released two albums on Rare Book Room Records: Necima (2008) and Known Unknown (2011).

Based in Japan, electronic performer/ laptop producer Gejius has released two solo albums: Black Eyes (Nueva Forma, 2006) and The Last 46:08 of Your Life (Palatial Crest, 2009).

Phil Kline collaborated with photographer Nan Goldin on the soundtrack for her Ballad of Sexual Dependency and was a member of Glenn Branca’s legendary guitar ensemble. His music ranges from the widely acclaimed song cycle Zippo Songs (Canteloupe, 2004) to Chinook, an outdoor boombox piece presented at the 2006 Winter Olympics in Turin. Kline has received grants and awards from the American Composers Forum, Meet the Composer, the New York State Council on the Arts, and the Virgil Thomson Foundation.

Raelian Geto is the musical alter ego of Brooklyn-based Ted Casterline, who has collaborated with Ric Ocasek, Fred Mascherino, The Rowboats, and Krakatoa, among others.

Julianna Barwick’s primary instrument is her voice, which she loops to create her often wordless a cappella songs. Barwick’s releases include Sanguine (2007) and the EP Florine (2009).
