Artist Bill Burns’s work about animals and advanced industrialism has been shown in solo projects at the KW Institute for Contemporary Art, Berlin (2007); the Institute of Contemporary Arts, London (2008); and the Fondacion Cristina Enea, San Sebastian, Spain (2010). Recent group exhibitions include those at the Seoul Museum of Art, Seoul, Korea (2002); the Museum of Modern Art, New York (2005/2006); and MASS MoCA, North Adams, MA (2012). Burns’s published works include When Pain Strikes (University of Minnesota Press, Minneapolis, 1999); Three Books and an Audio CD about Plants and Animals and War (Verlag der Buchhandlung Walther König, Cologne, Germany, 2011); and Dogs and Boats and Airplanes Told in the Form of Ivan the Terrible (Space Poetry, Copenhagen, Denmark, 2011). He lives and works in Toronto, Canada.
